U9 Softball

U9 Softball (age 7,8,9)

Age This program is for girls aged 7-9.   This is a softball program using a pitching machine.  If your child will be 7 during this calendar year and has a strong understanding of the basics: throwing, hitting, catching (including ground balls and pop flys) it is suggested that they play U9 to continue with their development.  If they are 7 and they do not possess these skills, it is recommended that they play Rally Cap for an additional season.  If you have questions about where your child should play, please reach out to Carman Minor Ball.
Games/Practices

U9 starts in the first or second week of May and runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7:30pm.  The season is generally 8 weeks in length.

Games/Tournaments against other organizations can be scheduled, but it will be up to each team's manager to coordinate this.

Location All practices/games are played in Carman at the new diamonds on Sexsmith Drive.
Things to Bring Baseball glove, hat, water bottle, suitable running shoes or cleats (a helmet is recommended)
Things Provided Helmets, bats, bases, balls, tees, first aid kits
Structure The first half hour of practice is focused on skill development followed by a game.  A mechanical pitching machine is used during the game to prepare kids to face live pitching in the U11 age division.   Each child bats every inning, there are outs, but runs are not counted.
Coaching Parents are required to coach!  Resources are provided by CMB and Baseball Manitoba to enable anyone to be a coach.

A huge THANK YOU to our local sponsors, Syls, for providing our teams with stylish jerseys!
